The Coffee Machine of Dreams: How to Make Your Mind Brew Miracles

🌱 “Your mind is not a storage room for fears and doubts — it’s a garden for dreams. Plant wisely.”

Your mind is your most powerful tool—and honestly, this truth cannot be said enough.
But here’s the thing: your mind only works at its highest potential when you give it clear instructions, purposeful direction, and keep your focus and energy aligned with those instructions. Without direction, even the most powerful tool is wasted.

One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is understanding how you learn best.
We each have a natural learning style—an environment in which our mind flourishes effortlessly. For me, learning demands complete silence and saying things out loud to imprint them deeper into my consciousness. My brother, on the other hand, learns best with music softly playing in the background. Knowing how your mind absorbs and processes information gives you an advantage—a personalized way to plant dreams and nurture them into reality.

So, ask yourself: What do I want? What are my dreams?

Then, use your mind according to how you learn best to make those dreams the center of your life. Earl Nightingale, in his timeless book The Strangest Secret, reminds us to firmly plant our dreams in the fertile soil of our mind. Just like we used to learn and remember lessons in school, we can now use those same skills to program our dreams into our reality.

But here’s where most of us stumble:
We believe our challenges are bigger than our mind’s power to solve them.
We inflate our problems and shrink ourselves in front of them.
We make mountains out of obstacles and forget we have the most extraordinary asset right between our two ears.

Let me share a personal story with you:

At the end of 2024, I was determined to finish building our two-bedroom unit and have it rented out by February 2025. Sounds simple enough, right? Except—I had one major challenge. I didn’t want to pull money out of my investments and savings, and my siblings were not in a position to help financially. I had to find another way.

So I did what I usually do when facing a seemingly impossible situation: I drew boxes on paper and in each one, I wrote what I wanted to see happen:

Complete the construction by February 2025.

Find the necessary funds easily.

Secure a responsible, paying tenant.

But still—the question loomed large: Where would the money come from? I planted the dream deep in my mind. I refused to let fear water it down. Then, one evening, I stumbled across a video on YouTube about starting a tontine—a community savings system where a group commits to pooling money monthly, and each month someone takes the whole pot.

I needed 10 people, including myself.
It seemed impossible… until it wasn’t.
By January 2025, I had gathered 8 committed and trustworthy people.
No, I didn’t finish building by February—my turn to receive the “jackpot” came only in April.
But here we are now.
The builders are at work finishing the unit as I write these words. The dream is being built—not just in bricks and cement, but in real life.

Now imagine your mind as a coffee machine: It needs the right ingredients—beans, water, electricity—to brew coffee. Without them, it just sits there.

Your mind works the same way. If you fill it with fears, doubts, scarcity, and complaints about the economy, the government, or your boss, what do you think it will brew? More fear. More doubt. More scarcity.

But if you plant dreams, vision, faith, and determination— your mind will brew miracles.

So, bestie, the real question is: What are you brewing up in your mind today?

With all my heart,

Salima
