A practice in intentional living that transformed my money, my mindset, and my entire identity

Before & After
2018 Me:
Shared apartment. Housemates from hell. Afraid to spend $50 on myself. Stuck in life I didn’t choose.
2025 Me:
7 rental units. Leading family financial decisions. Investing with confidence. Living a life I intentionally designed. What changed? One word. Every year. For seven years.
The first time I chose a Word of the Year, I didn’t know what I was doing.
I just knew I was tired of feeling stuck.
You know that feeling? When you’re going through the motions but something deep inside is screaming for more? When you look at your life and think, “This can’t be it”?
That was me. Constrained. Frustrated. Hungry for something I couldn’t even name yet.
I didn’t want another set of resolutions I’d abandon by February. I didn’t want a vision board I’d forget about. I wanted something different—something that would reach into the core of who I was and pull out the woman I was meant to become.
That’s when I found my first word: Transformation.
I had no idea that single word would crack open a door I’d been standing in front of my entire life.
The Word That Started Everything
For two years, I lived with Transformation as my guide.
Those years pulled me deep—into books, communities, and conversations I’d never had before. I joined my first membership group after stumbling across a random Facebook post that felt so aligned it gave me chills. (I now recognize this as manifestation, but back then I just called it “luck.”)
Inside that community, someone introduced me to a practice that felt instantly sacred: choosing a Word of the Year.
Something in my chest whispered: I need this.
When One Word Wasn’t Enough
Instead of forcing myself to pick just one word, I turned inward and asked a different question:
What is stopping me from living the life I want?
Three words rose up—clear, undeniable, urgent:
SOAR. ROAR. LIMITLESS.
- Soar — because I was done feeling trapped in a life that was slowly suffocating me
- Roar — because I’d spent too many years silencing my desires, my opinions, my truth
- Limitless — because I needed to break free from the people, beliefs, and patterns that were weighing me down
Those three words became my compass for the next two years.
And my life? It responded.
What Happened When I Started Living My Word
Here’s what changed when I stopped just thinking about my life and started becoming someone new:
✨ I left a shared apartment and moved into my first solo home
✨ I started blogging and sharing my voice publicly
✨ I began standing up to my family about money—and advocating for smarter financial decisions
✨ I launched my online business
✨ I joined my first money bootcamp
And then came the moment that terrified me most:
I invested in a high-level coaching membership—an amount that made my hands shake when I hit “purchase.”
Looking back? That decision remains one of the best investments I’ve ever made. Because it introduced me to the concept that changed everything: self-image
The Shift That Changed Everything: From Doing to Being
My coach taught me something I’ll never forget:
Choosing a Word of the Year isn’t about what you plan to do.
It’s about who you choose to be.
That year, my word was Determined.
And when I stepped into that identity—when I asked myself, “What would a determined woman do?”—everything shifted:
🔥 I took over our family rental business and turned it profitable
🔥 I initiated a savings plan to finish building a long-stalled two-bedroom unit
🔥 I stepped fully into my role as a money and mindset coach
The following year, I chose Wealthy.
By June:
💰The unit was fully built and got a tenant (we now have 7 rental units—a monthly money-making machine I once only journaled about)
💰My entire relationship with money shifted from fear to strategy
That year, I started an investment company. I began coaching women one-on-one. I didn’t just earn more money—I became someone completely different.
My Word for 2026: Sovereign
This year, my word is Sovereign.
And this word? It’s changing everything.
Before I make decisions—especially when old patterns try to pull me back—I pause and ask:
“You are no longer that woman. You are a sovereign woman. What does she do?”
This word has invited me to:
- Think bigger
- Face challenges with emotional maturity
- Respond instead of react
- Lead my life instead of being led by it
What Sovereignty Looks Like in Real Life
In relationships:
I no longer rush to fill silence or over-explain myself. A sovereign woman speaks with intention. I redirect nervous energy into journaling, reading, or resting. I’ve learned to be comfortable with quiet.
With money:
I spend intentionally. I stop unnecessary leaks. I invest strategically. Ideas flow constantly about how to make money work for me, not the other way around.
In my business:
I make decisions from alignment, not desperation. I trust myself. I move with clarity.
This is the power of living your Word of the Year.

Why This Practice Is So Transformative
Here’s what I’ve learned over the years:
Your Word of the Year doesn’t just change what you do.
It changes:
- How you think
- How you decide
- How you respond to life
And over time? It changes your identity.
When your identity changes, everything changes—because you’re no longer the same person making the same choices that led to the same results. You become someone new. Someone intentional. Someone powerful.
Who This Is For
This workbook is for the woman who’s tired of surface-level goal setting.
The one who knows she’s meant for more but can’t quite articulate what “more” looks like.
The one who’s ready to stop performing and start becoming.
The one who journals at night about the woman she wishes she could be—and is finally ready to become her.
If that’s you, keep reading.
Try This Right Now (Before You Do Anything Else)
Not sure if you’re ready? Start here:
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath. And ask yourself:
“What do I need to let go of this year?”
Whatever word surfaces first—write it down. No editing. No second-guessing.
That’s your starting point.
Now imagine living the next 365 days guided by that word. What would change? Who would you become?
That feeling you just had? That’s what this workbook helps you explore deeply.

“But What If I Choose the Wrong Word?”
I know what you’re thinking.
“What if I pick the wrong word?”
“What if this doesn’t work for me?”
“I’m terrible at sticking to things like this.”
Here’s the truth I wish someone had told me seven years ago:
There is no wrong word.
The word that calls to you—even if you don’t fully understand why—IS the right one.
And if it shifts mid-year? That’s not failure. That’s growth. That’s you listening to yourself evolve.
I’ve had years where my word changed completely by June. I’ve had years where three words chose me instead of one. I’ve had years where I resisted my word for months before surrendering to it.
All of it was exactly right.
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about intention.
And the workbook? It holds space for all of it—the certainty AND the uncertainty.

Be honest. This isn’t for Instagram. This is for you.
Return to it. Monthly. Weekly. Whenever you need to remember who you’re becoming.
This course designed to become worn, marked up, and deeply personal. Let it.

Your transformation is waiting—and it starts with one word.
This Isn’t About One Word
This is about reclaiming your life, one intentional year at a time.
It’s about waking up in 2030 and recognizing yourself—not because you’re different, but because you finally became who you always were.
It’s about looking back at 2026 and remembering it as the year everything shifted.
The year you stopped waiting for permission.
The year you chose yourself.
The year you became sovereign.
What will your word be?
P.S. The woman you want to become in December 2025? She’s already inside you.
This workbook just gives her permission to emerge.
Are you ready to meet her?
Yes, I’m ready. Show me the workbook →
P.P.S. Still on the fence?
Think about this: Where will you be in December if you don’t choose a word? Probably in the same place you are now, wondering why nothing’s changed.
Or you could invest 90 minutes and $47 in yourself today and look back at 2026 as the year that changed everything.
The choice is yours. But the woman you’re meant to become? She’s waiting.
I’m choosing myself. Let’s do this →
With all my love,
Salima
